“man-made primeval forest” world premiere in Festival Futura (FR)

man-made primeval forest(2019) 9’20”

note: Three forestry scholars had planted 100,000 trees and began a magnificent experiment to complete primitive forests over 100 years.
A century passed, a mysterious forest called “Meiji Shrine” has born in the skyscrapers in Tokyo.

I created this work with inspiration from the “man-made primeval forest” unexplored secluded residence in Tokyo.
It is a practice through which I tried to compose a song that contains not a single time flow but overlaps the multilayered time flow and enormous energies that encompass various lives.
In this work, musical instrument sounds, environmental sounds, human voice, fine electronic sounds corresponding to them overlap beautifully and are mixed to well resonate in space.

Forest is my original scenery. In the summer of 3 years, I visited a port town in Tohoku, my father’s birthplace, with my family. There was a state of enormous energy flowing, I felt it through the whole body, I was totally overwhelmed. These various vibrations that I felt in the towering tall trees are still remembered clearly in my brain.
